Privacy policy
Last updated October 17, 2026
This policy describes the information The Lion Coverage Provider collects through thelioncoverageprovider.com and the quote form linked from it, how that information is used and shared, and the choices open to you.
Information you provide
The quote form's questions concern you, your household's vehicles and how you have driven in the past. The more steps you finish, the more your answers may include: your name, marital status and date of birth, phone number, email address, home address with ZIP code, vehicle details, current insurer, and any accidents, claims or violations. Every question is optional, although we cannot match you with a partner when key details are missing.
Information collected automatically
Our hosting and security providers keep standard server records of each visit: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, the referring page, and the time of the request. We use the IP address to estimate your general location so the site can show information that fits your state.
Cookies and local storage
Cookies, along with related browser storage, keep your answers in place as you move through the form's steps, help us see how visitors use the site, and reveal which ads brought them here. You are free to switch cookies off or clear them in your browser; the form may not behave properly afterwards.
How information is shared
Once you submit the quote form, everything you entered goes to insurance carriers and agencies holding the required licenses, and to marketing partners. They use it to work out quotes and to contact you about insurance. This hand-off is the reason the service exists, and it also pays for the site.
Vendors working for us (hosting, analytics, form processing, messaging and fraud checks) also receive information to do that work. We may disclose information when the law demands it, or to protect rights and safety. After a partner has your details, its own privacy policy governs them; we have no say in how long it keeps them, how it markets to you or whom it passes them to.
Calls, texts and consent
Accepting the consent statement on the quote form and then submitting it permits the companies that statement names to call or text the number you supplied. Those calls and messages may be placed with an automatic telephone dialing system, may use an artificial or prerecorded voice, and may arrive even when the number is on the National Do Not Call Registry or a state list. Consent is never required to buy any product or service. How often messages arrive varies, and your mobile carrier's usual messaging and data charges may apply.
Withdraw consent at any time by replying STOP to a text, telling a caller, or sending us a message via the contact page. Withdrawing it with us leaves in place any consent already held by partners we matched you with; contact them as well if you want their messages to stop.
How long we keep it
Form submissions stay on file only while the purposes described here, and whatever legal or record-keeping rules apply to us, still call for them. After that we delete them or strip out identifying details. Server logs have a shorter life.
Your choices and rights
Depending on your state, you may be entitled to find out what personal data we have on you, obtain a copy, correct or delete it, and refuse its sale or its use in targeted advertising. California grants its residents these rights by law, as do several other states with broad privacy statutes. To make a request, use our contact page and state which right you want to exercise. Exercising a right will not lead to different treatment from us.
Children
This site is meant for adults. We never knowingly gather personal information from anyone younger than 18.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards for the information we hold. No website or database can be made perfectly secure, however, so we are unable to guarantee that it never will be breached.
Updates
Any revision will appear here, and the “Last updated” line will change with it.
